Third Madoka Magica Film Will Premiere Internationally

Madoka Magica III: The Rebellion | Saru Anime

France, Canada, and the United States are all going to see the third Puella Magi Madoka Magica movie premiering on their own shores! Many US fans lamented that showings for the first two films were very spread out across the country,  but here’s to hoping that Aniplex will expand their showings a little for the third and final Madoka Magica film.

The first two movies, Beginnings and Eternal, covered the same material as the twelve episode TV series. The third movie (titled Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie Part III – The Rebellion Story) is an actual sequel with new content and story. It’s going to be new. It’s going to be exciting. I can barely wait!

This news comes out of Japan Expo in France, where it was announced that the film will have its French premiere November 16th. It comes out in Japanese theaters October 26th. US and Canada premiere dates haven’t been announced as of yet.

If you haven’t seen the series yet, head over to Crunchyroll and get started. You can see more information on the Madoka movies and series over at Aniplex’s official website.

Now, if only we could get the same bonuses they get overseas. These gorgeous Art Nouveau-style posters were offered to fans who preordered tickets to the third film in Japan.

    • I agree! If they made figurines using these designs it would be even better.

Aww, well I really hope it does! Did the first two films make it there?

      • Thanks, I hope so too!

I hadn’t yet discovered the glory of the series when the films first came out – but I’m pretty sure they were screened only once as a special event. I hope we get additional screenings this time.

Even if it’s only shown once though… not a chance I’d be missing out this time!

      • I know that feeling too well- you get into something you really love and then find out you just missed something big. But at least they showed the first two films there, that’s a good sign! Means they know there’s a following there and it’s worth their time and money to show it.

      • Yes, it’s just like that!

And you make a good point. I don’t know if they were a huge success because I wasn’t there, but we’ll wait and see. 🙂
